Awards
Individual and club service awards are achieved each year through volunteer efforts and activities. HOLA also gives 2 very special awards each year….
Individual….
The “Sertoman of the Year” award is the highest honor a Sertoman can achieve from their club. It is given to an individual member that has excelled in promoting the Sertoma mission or volunteer activities. After earning the club award, it is possible for the individual to achieve that honor at the district, regional, & even international level.
HOLA’s Sertoman of the Year for 20010-2011 is Susan Love.
Susan also won the District Award (Southwest MO/ARK) AND the Regional Award (Heart of America)!! She will now be considered for the International award along with all other Regional winners.
The “Service to Mankind” award is an honor the club bestows upon a person or entity who is not a Sertoman but has contributed greatly to the betterment of community and/or mankind.
HOLA’s ”Service to Mankind” award for 2010-2011 was given to Jim Murphy for his volunteer work with many community projects and agencies, including countless hours as a public television volunteer. He loves working with children and assisting at his church as well.
CONGRATULATIONS to both Susan and Jim! THANK YOU for your service. It’s people like you that make Sertoma worthwhile.!!
Club….
HOLA Sertoma earned all three of the awards given by international during the 2010-2011 year. These included the Member, Marketing, and Mission Awards. They are awarded based on activities of the club that enhance and build each of these areas into their volunteer activities and goal planning. Since HOLA achieved all three of these, they were also awarded the “Circle of Excellence” Award. HOLA members are honored to have received these awards and are very proud to add them to our banner.
